Many people want to lose weight but are difficult to control their appetite. The research team of the Department of Physical Treatment and Assistance Science and Technology of the National Yangming Jiaotong University discovered that taking high-protein food after exercise can indeed inhibit appetite, prolong muscle aging, and improve cardiovascular epidemiology.
Taking high-protein foods after exercise can reduce appetiteHigh-protein diets have a foot feeling, and were once one of the popular weight reduction methods in the market. Chen Jonan, a professor in the Department of Physical Treatment and Assistance Science and Technology of Yangming Jiaotong University, conducted a three-month high-strength intermittent flight movement for middle-aged obese people with an average age of nearly 60.
Studies have found that even if the appetite after exercise increases significantly, as long as high-protein drinks are supplemented within 30 minutes after exercise, they will not only have a lower sense of hunger, but also reduce the chance of eating late-night snacks. It shows that taking high-protein drinks after medium and high strength exercise is an effective weight control strategy.
The research team also found that exercise and high-protein diet can improve the risk factors of cardiovascular disease and prevent sarcopenia in middle-aged obese people. In a three-month study, high-protein diet combined with exercise was detected to significantly reduce pyrosterol and triglycerides, reduce fat mass, improve insulin sensitivity, glucose tolerance, and inflammation response, while also strengthening muscle strength and exercise ability.
Chen Qiaonan said that past data suggested that each person's protein intake per kilogram per day should be 1.6 grams to maintain muscle mass. The research team also used this as a dietary target for the experiment group. "Broadness and fatness" is a common problem in middle and upper age groups. The result is cardiovascular disease. Reduced exercise volume can also make muscle loss faster. The research results provide reference for middle- and upper-age obese ethnic groups, and also provide new ideas and strategies for obesity management.
However, Chen Qiaonan also reminded that research is to verify the physical and physical manifestations of high-protein diets in middle- and high-age ethnic groups, but it does not mean that eating only high-protein diets is a good weight management method. Sports are still the root of everything, and the control of physical strength (activity ability) and cardiovascular and reproaching disease risks are more noteworthy than weight.
The study was published in the 273rd issue of Physiology & Behavior scientific journal early this year.
