Nowadays young people like to keep one or two pets at home. However, many pet owners do not know how to take care of their pet dogs at the beginning. They slowly learn to become a qualified pet owner through the process of exploration. Today I want to share with you pet owners the correct ways to deal with heat stroke in dogs.

1. Move the dog to a cool and ventilated place

Dogs may suffer from heat stroke when the ambient temperature is above 30 degrees Celsius. Therefore, once a dog is found to have heat stroke, the first thing to do is to move the dog to a cool and ventilated place to rest, which can cool down the heat to a certain extent.

2. Let the dog drink a lot of water.

Because a dog suffering from heat stroke will be very dehydrated. If the water is not replenished in time, it will easily lead to dehydration shock. Therefore, the owner also needs to let the dog drink a lot of water. It is best to feed water at room temperature. Ice water should not be too cold, otherwise it will increase the burden on the dog's gastrointestinal tract. In addition, you can also use cold water to slowly wet the dog to help it cool down faster, but make sure the temperature of the water is not too cold.

3. Use alcohol to wipe the dog's body

Dogs mainly dissipate heat through their footpads and tongues, and alcohol has a good cooling effect, so owners can use alcohol to wipe the dog's body, especially the ears, footpads, and groin, which can effectively cool down. If conditions permit, you can also provide your dog with a fan or air conditioner to help your dog dissipate heat.

4. Seek medical attention promptly

If the dog suffers from severe heat stroke and develops symptoms such as difficulty breathing, coma, shock, and body temperature rising sharply to 41-42°, it needs to be sent to a pet hospital immediately for rescue, otherwise the dog may die.

Note: When raising dogs, you need to ensure that the environment the dog is in has a suitable temperature. In summer, it is generally not recommended that owners take their dogs out in the afternoon. Dogs may die if they suffer from severe heatstroke.
