There is a "big bear in the water" Known as "cat"
On the morning of November 21, Fuzhou bird watching enthusiast Qiu Yang photographed it on the waterfront plank outside the south gate of Fuzhou National Forest Park in Jin'an District. This was also the first time that the Chinese Merganser was recorded in the Sicheng District of Fuzhou.
On the morning of the 21st
Qiu Yang was preparing to enter the park from the south gate of Fuzhou National Forest Park
Suddenly a bird flew up from the bushes by the waterside

"I habitually raised the camera and took twelve or three pictures with a high-speed shutter." Qiu Yang said that when sorting through the photos, he discovered that it was a bird he had never seen before.
Qiu Yang shared the photos with other enthusiasts and asked several birdwatching experts to identify them. He got an unexpected answer - it was a Chinese Merganser. It's a pity that because it was a sudden shooting, it was only shot from the rear.

The relevant person in charge of the Fujian Provincial Bird Watching Association said
Although we only saw the back
, the scaly patterns on the side of the bird's body
were very obvious in the photo
so it was judged to be the Chinese Merganser
Bird watching expert Dong Wenxiao said
The Chinese Merganser and the Red-breasted Merganser are similar in size
It can be 100% determined by the scaly pattern on its feathers
It is the Chinese Merganser

As Fuzhou citizens' awareness of bird love has increased in recent years, and the surrounding ecological environment has continued to improve, more and more rare birds have entered the public's sight.
In the past few years, more than a dozen Chinese Mergansers have come from the northeast to spend the winter in Wucheng Village, Songkou Town, Yongtai County, Fuzhou. This time it was photographed in Fuzhou National Forest Park, which is the first time that the Chinese Merganser has been recorded in the Sicheng District of Fuzhou.
