Kioxia, a major Japanese NAND flash memory manufacturer, announced that it will produce next-generation memory, known as the "9th generation" this year, and has begun shipping samples.
Guangzhou announced last Friday (25th) that the 512Gb TLC product using the 9th generation BiCS FLASH 3D flash memory technology has started shipping on sample on that day, and is expected to be mass-produced within this year (before the end of March 2026).
Guangzi said that the above products use the 120-layer stacking process technology and the latest CMOS technology based on the fifth generation BiCS FLASH technology. Compared with the company's current products (the 6th generation BiCS FLASH product that began to be produced in 2022), the writing performance has a 61% improvement, a reading performance has a 12% improvement, and a power consumption has improved by about 30% (36% improvement at the time of writing and 27% improvement at the time of reading).
According to Japanese media reports, the above-mentioned next-generation memory products are produced by Sinishi City Factory and are expected to be used for smartphones and other purposes.
According to news reports on, Guangxi announced the medium- and long-term operation plan on June 5, with the goal of increasing production capacity to twice that of 2024 in the five years ended in 2029. The company will use NAND Flash to expand production lines and increase production AI data centers in two major factories in Japan (Izuki City Factory and Kosaka Factory).
The "Standard Factory 2 (K2)" of Guanqian North China Factory will invest and produce the most advanced 8th generation NAND Flash "BiCS8" in September, while Guanqi will increase the production proportion of "BiCS8" with the goal of surpassing its current sales in March 2026.
