In an interview, former Chelsea forward Hasselbaink said he was surprised that he did not try to sign Jackson during the summer window.
Hasselbaink said this: "I have always loved Jackson and I think he can make some changes to the team. But it's obvious that there are two forwards who have joined and he doesn't feel like he's playing time. He wants to leave, which is understandable, and I think Chelsea is willing to sell him."
"I'm just surprised Newcastle or Manchester United haven't tried to sign him, but he asked to leave, and I really don't know what to say. He currently plays for a club outside of England and I think Chelsea will wish him all the best."
