How to wash cotton clothes so as not to shrink

It is very comfortable to wear on clothes, and many people like it. However, the cotton coat is not resistant to water washing, and it is easy to shrink if it is not washed well. Today I will share the tips for washing cotton clothes. Whether it is hand washing or machine washing, it can prevent the cotton clothes from shrinking.

1. Hand washing steps for cotton coats:

Preparation before washing: Before washing the cotton coat, soak the clothes in 30-35 degrees light salt water for about half an hour (mainly to prevent fading and shrinkage).

Washing start: 1. After the cotton coat is soaked, wash it at a water temperature below 35 degrees with neutral washing liquid (mainly various laundry detergents, with a pH value between 6 and 8, which has less damage to the cotton coat and has a stronger detergent ability than washing powder).

2. Rinse the washed clothes repeatedly with clean water.

Note: Do not soak in water for a long time. Do not use force twisting or rubbing vigorously during the washing process, which can reduce the degree of shrinkage.

2. Machine washing steps for cotton clothes:

Preparation for machine washing: The washing preparation work is the same as above (you can also simply wash it by hand before entering the machine, which will help the machine wash cleaner).

Machine washing start: 1. Put the cotton coat into the laundry bag and put it in the washing machine, and set the washing machine to a weak water flow.

2. If the preparations for machine washing are done well, you can run for about 3 to 4 minutes, take out the cotton coat and rinse it with water.

3. The cleaning work of the cotton coat is completed.

Note: If possible, you can add some clothing softener to make cotton clothes soft and will not cause obvious shrinkage.

3. The correct method of drying cotton coats

By the way, let’s talk about the cool drying work after washing. Doing this step is also the key to preventing shrinkage!

1. If you are washing by hand, don’t wrinkle all the clothes after washing, but leave some water to let the clothes dry under the action of gravity, and it will not shrink so easily.

2. After stretching the cotton clothes through ironing, the iron can be used to iron them to shape them. The clothes can be pulled again, thus returning to their original size and solving the confusion of shrinkage.

3. Since the unwrinkled cotton coat contains a lot of water, the cotton coat cannot be dried directly on a clothes rack after washing, nor can it be hung on ropes or clothes rods to dry. Otherwise, due to gravity, the cotton coat of the sweater will be lengthened and deformed (place the dried sweater on the towel blanket, stretch it flat and stretch it, and wait for it to dry it a little before hanging it).
