International match day ended, Haaland, who returned from Norway's World Cup competition, accepted an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, talking about Norway's goal of entering the World Cup.
Reporter: What is the day of this international competition? It seemed quite busy, and I had a little "dispute" with the bus door and scored 6 goals.
Haland (laughs): Yes, a lot of things did happen that week. So, everything went well and one step closer to Norway's big goal.
Reporter: Is this a major goal for you? I think your father once participated in the World Cup, which was in 1994, right? Your country hasn't entered the World Cup for 25 years, so is this a major goal for you at the moment?
Haland: Yes, it has been 27 years since the last time he participated in the World Cup (1998). The European Cup was in 2000 - I think that was the most recent one. Yes, that's an important goal. Since I entered the national team, my long-term goal is to get Norway back...I don't know what you call it, what the final thing (contest final circle). In short, qualifying for the competition will be a major achievement. Hope we get what we want.
World qualifiers European Group I, Norway led the lead in 5 games, leading second place Italy in 1 game in one more game with 6 points + 16 goals. The remaining 3 rounds will face Israel at home, Estonia at home, and Italy away.
The World and European qualifiers will continue on October 12 and 15. Norway will lock in the top spot in the group as early as October's international match day and directly advance to the 2026 US, Canada and Mexico World Cup.
