The Sun: Bissouma was defrauded of more than £800,000 and the scammer has been arrested

"The Sun" reported that Tottenham midfielder Bissouma was defrauded of more than 800,000 pounds.

According to reports, Bissouma suffered financial losses from September 2022 to June 2024. 31-year-old Maurice Gomez was arrested by the police a year ago after a player reported a crime.

London police confirmed that Gomez was charged with two counts of fraud by false representation in October, with each count carrying a maximum sentence of ten years. Bissouma, who holds accounts at Coutts Bank, a bank reserved for two royal families, billionaires and celebrities, is alleged to be the victim in both cases.

Court records obtained by "The Sun" show that Gomez is accused of dishonestly transferring Bissouma's funds to his own account without the knowledge or authorization of the Premier League star.

The prosecutors accused Gomez of obtaining a total of 834,334.40 pounds through suspected illegal bank transfers. It has not yet been found out the relationship between the defendant and Bissouma, nor is it clear how Gomez obtained account access.

The defendant, who lives in a six-bedroom mansion worth £1.4 million in Enfield, north London, will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court today. If the case goes to trial, Bissouma may appear in court to testify.

Informed sources revealed: "This incident has caused great harm to Bissouma. He has gone through a difficult year on and off the court, and the pending lawsuit has undoubtedly exacerbated the difficulty."

In June of this year, Bissouma also experienced a luxury watch worth 255,000 pounds being violently robbed in Cannes.

Coutts Bank declined to comment on the matter.
