Liverpool Club recently held a special awards ceremony at Anfield, awarding league championship medals to 14 former players in recognition of their contribution to the 20 top league championships in the team's history. Due to the limited number of appearances at the time, these players unfortunately missed the opportunity to win medals that year.
In order to make up for this regret, the club specially customized medals engraved with each player's name and winning season. At the ceremony, many celebrities including Jan Malby, Alan Kennedy, and Terry McDermott personally received this belated honor. In addition, the club also posthumously awarded a medal to the family of late player Joey Jones to commemorate his 13 appearances in the 1975-76 season.
The legendary Sir Kenny Dalglish personally presented awards to his former teammates. Club official Jonathan Bamber said: "It was an exciting night and it was a real honor to present medals to these members of the 'Forever Reds' who deserve to be remembered for their contribution which is an integral part of the club's glorious history.
