The Ghanaian media "Ghana Football Network" reported that the Ghana national team will embark on an Asian tour in November and will play friendly matches with Japan and South Korea.

Reports pointed out that the African powerhouse Ghana has become the 21st team to qualify for the finals of the 2026 US-Canada-Mexico World Cup. On the 13th local time, Ghana defeated Comoros 1-0 in the tenth round of Group I of the 2026 World Cup African Qualifiers at the Alka Stadium in Accra, Ghana. After this campaign, Ghana ranked first in the group with 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, with 25 points, 6 points ahead of second place Madagascar, and directly advanced to the World Cup finals. This is the fifth time in Ghana's history that it has entered the World Cup.

Ghana has thus become the fifth African team to qualify for the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, following Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and Algeria, and the 21st team in the world to qualify. There are currently only 27 seats left to be determined for this World Cup. This is the first time in history that the World Cup has been expanded to 48 teams.

"Ghana Football Network" reported that the Ghana national team will start a tour of Asia and play friendly matches with Japan and South Korea. Ghana will go on an Asian tour in November and play against two strong Asian teams, Japan and South Korea. The media revealed that the Ghana team will first play Japan on November 14th, and then go to Seoul to face South Korea on November 17th.

Reports pointed out that both the Japanese and Korean teams have qualified for the 2026 World Cup. This tour will provide Ghana with valuable training opportunities, which will not only help the coach inspect new players, but also improve the tactical system by maintaining the rhythm of the game.

Ghana is South Korea’s opponent in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Ghana, which now has Premier League wingers such as Kudus and Semenho, will become an ideal training target for Hong Myung-bo's team.

Recently, Hong Mingfu and his team are preparing for the World Cup. In September, they recorded 1 win and 1 draw in the A-level matches against the United States and Mexico. The results achieved by using a three-back system on the soil of the World Cup host country are encouraging. However, the team suffered a 0-5 defeat in a friendly match with Brazil at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on the 10th of this month. The three-back system completely failed in the face of Brazil's pressing style of play.

After experiencing this setback, South Korea strives to regroup in the match against Paraguay on the 14th. In addition, the South Korean team needs to strive for victory in the November games against Bolivia and Ghana to maintain FIFA ranking points.
