What to do if your dog has myocarditis? What is the treatment for myocarditis in canine?

There are fewer people with myocarditis alone, most of which are secondary to certain infectious diseases, parasitic diseases, poisoning diseases, rheumatism and pelvic blood. Myocarditis is myocarditis characterized by increased myocardial excitability and weakened myocardial contractility.

This is a common heart disease in dogs. Myocarditis occurs in dogs alone, and most of them are secondary to other diseases.

1. Causes of canine myocarditis:

1. Usually, different degrees of myocarditis can be caused in the acute stage of virus or other pathogen infection, such as canine distemper, canine parvovirus, leptospirosis, infectious hepatitis, and influenza.

2. Certain parasitic diseases (such as toxoplasmosis, canine nausea) can also cause secondary myocarditis.

3. Toxic diseases (such as carbon monoxide, heavy metals, phenols, organophosphorus, anesthetic drugs, etc.) can directly damage the myocarditis, leading to myocarditis or myocardial degeneration.

4. In addition, sepsis, sepsis, allergies, rheumatism, anemia, etc. can all cause myocarditis.

2. Clinical symptoms of canine myocarditis:

1. Acute myocarditis often starts with myocardial excitation, manifested as rapid and full pulse, hyperpnea, and increased heart sound.

2. After a sick dog exercises slightly, his heartbeat increases rapidly, and even if the exercise stops, it can still last for a long time.

3. When the dog's myocardium is malnutrition and degeneration, it is mainly manifested as symptoms of heart failure.

4. When the heart's compensatory adaptability is lost, the mucosa of the sick dog will become cyanotic, breathing is difficult, the surface of the veins will be angrily opened, and the ends of the limbs and under the chest and abdomen will be edema.

5. Chronic myocarditis is manifested as weakness, difficulty breathing, tachycardia, weak heartbeat, irregular rhythm, and often accompanied by systolic murmurs.

6. Dogs with severe myocarditis have lost appetite, depression, and coma, and eventually died suddenly due to heart failure.

3. Prevention and treatment measures for canine myocarditis: The treatment principles of canine myocarditis are: reduce the burden on the heart, enhance myocardial nutrition, improve myocardial contractility, and treat primary diseases.

1. Strengthen nursing: Sick dogs should rest quietly, stop training and homework, avoid excessive excitement and exercise, and limit excessive drinking of water.

2. Promote myocardial metabolism: 15~20 mg of adenosine triphosphate, 35~50 units of Coenzyme A or 25-50 mg of inosine can be injected intramuscularly, 1~2 times a day. Or add 15-30 mg of cytochrome C, add 200 ml of 10% glucose solution and inject intravenously.

3. Symptomatic treatment: When there is high difficulty in breathing, oxygen can be used to inhale people; for dogs with little urine and obvious edema, diuretics can be used.
