You can pour some water into it during the acceptance time. On the one hand, check whether it is blocked, and on the other hand, it can seal the odor in time. The floor drain with poor construction will not only look indecent, but will also cause odor and overflow after use.
Floor drain installation method - How to choose the floor drain size
Floor drain installation method
Please confirm whether the diameter of your sewer pipe is 5CM and whether the depth of the sewer pipe is 8cm (the depth from the ground is always along the pipe to the bottom). If the depth is only 6 cm, you need to choose a submarine ultra-thin floor drain. Because the inner core of the floor drain must be placed in the drain pipe. As long as these two sizes are appropriate, there will be no problem with installation!
Installation method:
1) Demolition of old floor drain, that is, dismantling the grates and buckles on the original floor drain to expose the sewer pipe; use a chainsaw to remove the old floor drain and remove the old floor drain, and see that the old floor drain is corrosive and cannot be used.
2) Take out the small panel and inner core of the local drain;
3) Apply an appropriate amount of white cement mortar on the inner edge of the original drain opening and the lower edge of the large panel of the local drain, and cover it on the original drain opening. Note that the plane should be a little lower than the ground, and the drain should be aligned with the sewer opening (very important);
4) Place the inner core into the floor drain frame and tighten it, and cover the grate. Please be sure to dry until it is 12 hours before starting.
Floor drain size selection
Odorproof floor drain sizes are mainly two common, 3 inches in diameter and 4 inches in diameter. There are other sizes, from small to large, with many sizes. According to the shape of the odorproof floor drain, there are square, round, rectangular, etc. The size of the household square floor drain is from 90mm*90mm to 150mm*150mm, and the materials are brass, copper, bronze, stainless steel, plastic, alloy, cast iron, etc.
Before purchasing an odorproof floor drain, you should have a basic understanding of the size of the sewer pipe in your home. If it is a national standard size, you can be assured to purchase an odorproof floor drain of the corresponding standard size. If it is a non-national standard, you must specifically measure or understand the size of the sewer pipe in advance, and then choose the size of the odorproof floor drain accordingly, so as not to install or be inappropriate and cannot produce the effect of the floor drain. The floor drains sold on the market are all standard sizes, which are more troublesome when consumers buy. If the size is not up to par, the decoration workers need to rework again. Therefore, the best way is for consumers not to let the decoration workers modify the size of the drain holes first, and first go to the market to select the appropriate floor drains, and then ask the decoration workers to repair the drain holes according to the size of the floor drain.
It is important to note that the opening size of the floor drain grate is 6-8mm. If it is larger than this hole size, it is easy to allow hair, sludge and other things to enter the sewer from the floor drain, causing the sewer to be blocked and causing trouble.
Floor drain installation precautions
Requirements for floor drain
1) Drainage capacity
Drainage capacity is the minimum requirement for floor drains.
2) Water seal depth
Water seal is a water storage device used in the floor drain to block the escape of odor. The water seal depth refers to the vertical distance between the highest water surface of the water storage curve in the floor drain and the lower port of the water seal. The national water supply and drainage system has water sealing, PVC floor drain and full tung floor drain for water-storage floor drain; in terms of functions, there are odorproof floor drains with elbows, lifting floor drains, ultra-thin floor drains, and special floor drains for washing machines.
Floor drain installation requirements
1) The floor drain installation should be flat and without leakage. The floor drain should be installed at the lowest point of the ground, and the top surface of the grate should be 5mm lower than the ground at the set point. Asphalt paint should be used twice for anti-corrosion.
2) The depth of the floor drain seal shall not be less than 50mm, the installation position of the buckle bowl shall be correct, and the iron grate shall be anti-corrosion and flexible to open.
Installation
1) Trim the drainage reserved holes so that they are completely consistent with the floor drain. The aperture diameter of the floor drain grate should be controlled between 6~8mm to prevent hair, sand and other dirt from entering.
2) After the construction is completed, be sure to seal the gaps around the floor drain with glass glue or adhesive to ensure that the odor cannot be dissipated.
Acceptance
You can pour some water into it during the acceptance time. On the one hand, check whether it is blocked, and on the other hand, it can seal the odor in time. The floor drain with poor construction will not only look indecent, but will also cause odor and overflow after use.
